The funding for the issuance of home inspector licenses in Maryland has once again received an unfavorable vote during the last legislative session. What that means is that there will be no licenses issued to Maryland home inspectors until funding is in place to operate the program.

It is important for the consumer to have a board that oversees home inspections in Maryland, because the board can resolve disputes between Maryland home inspectors and their clients. It is important for all legitimate Maryland home inspectors to have a board that can help standardize the way home inspections are accomplished in Maryland. We believe that the board will help the Maryland home inspection industry by eliminating those inspectors that do not meet the requirements for licensing or those inspectors who poorly perform for their clients.
